Dr. Fidelis Ndombera is an accomplished biochemist, renowned for his extensive expertise in pharmaceutical research and development, and academic prowess. He holds a PhD in Chemistry, specializing in Biochemistry with a minor in Analytical Chemistry, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry & Biochemistry from Kenyatta University. In his professional career spanning several years, Dr. Ndombera has made significant contributions to the field of biochemistry. Currently, he is employed at Labcorp, where he has been working for over four years. As a Study Lead QC Scientist III since April 2021, he manages a variety of multi-technique projects. His role encompasses overseeing cell-based assays, ELISA, qPCR, Flow cytometry, and Biacore. He skillfully handles quality control laboratory operations and excels in client communication and leading scientific teams. His expertise is crucial in assay transfer, validation, sample analysis, and navigating the complex regulatory frameworks integral to drug development.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Ndombera served as a Staff Scientist I at Labcorp. During this time, he was involved in analytical chemistry, bioassay method development, illumina sequencing, and Nanostring technology. His work also extended to drug development, ddPCR, and Biodistribution studies, always ensuring adherence to SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
His tenure at Covance as a Research Associate further refined his skills. Here, he focused on Biodistribution solutions for gene and cell therapy, mastering techniques like DNA extraction, qPCR, and various fluorescent cell and immunoassays, in compliance with GMP, GCP, and GLP standards.
Dr. Ndombera's academic career at Wayne State University as a PhD Researcher and
Biochemistry Researcher was equally impressive. He dedicated himself to the synthesis of small molecules targeting cancer cell metabolism and conducted in-depth cell-based assays to evaluate these molecules in lung cancer cells. His research also encompassed a wide range of techniques, including organic synthesis, mammalian cell culture, fluorescent cell-based assays, click chemistry, protein expression and purification, as well as proficiency in HPLC, LCMS, NMR, peptide synthesis, and small molecule screening.
Beyond his technical and scientific expertise, Dr. Ndombera is well-versed in team-building, leadership, education, and training, which are integral to his role. His skill set includes report writing, personnel management, mammalian cell culture, client relations, validation, and project management, making him a well-rounded professional in the field of biochemistry.
